Our Servants and Leaders

You may notice a difference in the leadership at Alum Creek compared to many other groups. The only true leader is God and His son Jesus Christ. Our responsibility is not to reinvent the wheel, but continue the work began by Christ. All members of the Lord's church are called as servants in the kingdom, though some have more specified roles. You can read more about our Elders, Deacons, and Evangelist below.

Elders

Elders function as the local authority within the church. The elders teach classes, visit the sick, and do their best to guide the body of Christ in a godly way. They serve both inside and outside of the worship to advance the kingdom of God. From left to right our elders are- Dan Dooley, Bob Matthews, and C.B. Keeney

Local EVANGELIST

Joseph Watts, his wife Amie, and three boys (Jace, Levi, and Isaac) started working with the congregation in 2010. Joseph attended Harding University and graduated in 2009. He is the full time preacher tasked with delivering messages, teaching classes, and encouraging members.

Deacons

We are blessed to have six deacons who deal with many of the day to day tasks.  These men and their families work hard to help our congregation function.

  • Benevolence Work- Roger Escue and Earnest Sowards work with our charitable outreach.
  • Education- We have classes for all ages. Rod Cummings and Scott Elswick make sure these classes are staffed and supplied with good biblical material.
  • Building Maintenace- Larry Tackett and Scott Smith take care of the general work needed around the building.
